Protectors-Chapter 7
The Dream
When Kayla got home that night she was a mix of happy and sad, but halfway up the stairs she got dizzy and almost didn't even make it up to her room, she laid down and soon went to sleep.
When Kayla opened her eyes there was a dark room, and the only sign of people were shadows and voices, there was nobody else but Kayla, "How could you lose twice in a row all in one day?" Kayla heard a harsh voice say. "I'm very sorry Lord Galen, they're just too powerful, we tried our best," there was a familiar voice. Kayla looked, she was surprised to find Kaji and Spry kneeling down in front of a cloaked figure that she took to be the leader, the one they called Lord Galen. "How are we supposed to carry out our plans if you two can't do your jobs right!?" said Galen.
"Good, now..." Kayla took a step back, then her shoes made a loud squeak,
"Who's there?" asked Spry.
"Fools, go look, and bring him here alive, I wish to deal with him myself," said Galen. Kayla started to run away, then the scene changed, and everything turned pitch black, Kayla tried to scream, but no sound came out, then she opened her eyes and... Kayla was back in her room, she got up and looked around, she looked so pale as if she had seen a ghost, she got out of bed and headed straight for work.
Kayla got to work early, and she even saw Nikki there, she was surprised since it was Nikki's day off, "What are you doing here Nikki?" asked Kayla, "I thought that today was your day off."
"It was, but I thought that you'd be a little stressed out because of Elliot, so I arrived early so I could help you out," said Nikki.
"Thanks, that really helps me," said Kayla, "and it's a good thing you're here, I have to tell you guys something, are Mark and Lewis here? This is important."
"Yeah, I think they're in the basement," said Nikki. Just then Mark walks in and is happy to see Kayla, but is also surprised, "Kayla, I didn't expect to see you here this early, is everything ok?" asked Mark.
"Sort-of, not really, I mean, ooh, come in the base, I have to tell you guys something important."
In the base Kayla told Mark, Lewis, and Nikki all about the dream, and when she finished Mark and Lewis were pacing all around the room, and it was making Nikki and Kayla dizzy. "So you saw Kaji and Spry along with another figure? Is that right?" asked Lewis.
"Yeah, it was really weird," answered Kayla.
"But it was just a dream, it's not like it really happened, right?" asked Nikki.
"But I think it did, I mean, I could hear every word clearly, it was like I was in their lair," said Kayla, "and when my shoes made a squeak they could hear it,, and they were after me in a second."
"Well, it seems that Kayla's mind can some how see into the enemy's plans," said Mark, "we could use this for our benefit to beat them and their leader, Lord Galen or whatever."
"Yeah, all we have to do is learn how to control it," said Lewis.
"But how are we going to do that?" asked Nikki.
"Well first we have to find out what triggered it," said Mark, he looked at Kayla, "what happened before you had the dream?"
"Well, I don't really know, but, I was kind of sad, and I had no idea what was going on, then when I got home I was so dizzy and it was a miracle that I reached my room, then when I fell asleep the dream started, it was really scary," then Kayla was interrupted.
"Hello, is anyone there?" asked a voice.
"It must be a customer, you go, we can talk later," said Mark. Kayla and Nikki ran up the stairs and got into the skates, when they saw the customer it turned out to be Elliot, "Elliot? what are you doing here?" asked Kayla.
"I'm here because wanted to ask you if you were doing anything next Saturday," said Elliot.
"No, I haven't made any plans yet, why?" Kayla said back.
"Well, there's a new movie coming out so I was going to ask you to go with me," he answered.
"I'd love to, thanks. Oh, I almost forgot, this is my new friend, Nikki, Nikki, this is Elliot," Kayla introduced them to each other.
"Hi, nice to meet you," said Nikki.
"Hello. Well, I''ll see you at school tomorrow, bye?" said Elliot.
"Bye, see you," Kayla said. When Elliot left the customers started to pour in, Nikki and Kayla got right to work, but Kayla couldn't help but space out every now and then. By the time the customers left it was closing time and Kayla and Nikki had to get home, so they couldn't go back and figure out what triggered Kayla's dream, "We'll talk later," said Lewis.
"Ok, bye," said Kayla. Then they ran off.
Back in the enemy's lair Lord Galen punishes his minions. "YOU IDIOTS, HOW COULD YOU LOSE TWICE? THEN YOU LET THAT INTRUDER GET AWAY, THEY COULD HAVE HEARD OUR PLANS! I AM AT THE END OF MY ROPE WITH YOU TWO, YOU BETTER MAKE A TURN AROUND SOON, OR SO HELP ME, I WILL CUT OFF BOTH OF YOUR HEADS AND MOUNT THEM ON MY WALL, YOU HEAR ME!" he yelled.
"Don't worry my lord," said Kaji.
"Yes, it won't happen again sir," said Spry. As soon as Galen left Spry said to herself, "I'll get you back you little protectors, don't you worry." Then they both walked off.
"Well, there's a new movie coming out so I was going to ask you to go with me," he answered.
