An Ally
The next day Kayla got ready for her first day of work, on the way she bumped into a girl she had never really seen before, "Hi, I'm Kayla Carr, haven't I seen you before?" she asked.
"I don't know, maybe at school, I go to Wakefield Junior High school,"
"I go there too, what's your name?"
"I'm Nikki Hanson," she answered.
"where are you headed to?" asked Kayla, "I'm going to work."
"I heard that a new cafe opened, so I'm going there, would you happen to know where it is" said Nikki
"That's cool,that's exactly where I work," then Kayla heard a voice in her head, it was Minna.
"Kayla, I feel something strange around her, but it doesn't feel like an alien, you should get her to Mark and Lewis so they can see what's going on."
"Why don't we walk together?" Kayla asked Nikki.
All the way Kayla and Nikki told each other about themselves, and soon they became good friends.
At the cafe Nikki met Mark and Lewis, Kayla whispered to them what Minna said about Nikki, "Will you meet us in the back room Kayla?" asked Lewis,
"Kay, no problem," she answered, "will you wait a sec Nikki, I gotta go, but I'll be right back?"
"Course, I'll wait, you go, I'll be right here." Kayla met Mark and Lewis in the back room, when she went inside she saw a huge screen behind them, "Welcome to our secret base Kayla," said Lewis.
"Remember how we told you that you had companions, other protectors, you know, the ones that control the power of all 4 elements?" asked Mark.
"they all carry a special pattern in their DNA, not unlike you," Lewis continued "that makes it possible for Minna to sometimes feel a strange presence around them, but that won't always happen, so you use this" Mark held out a tall wand like object with an orb and a crescent moon above it,and inside the crescent moon, resting on top of it was a beautiful silver crystal, "this is the Power Wand," continued Lewis, "if you go somewhere near one of the protectors then it will glow and beep, and that's how you identify them, also, it will replace your Planet Scepter, and will give you even more power, just shout Crystal Planet Power, and you will use your power."
"That crystal on the wand is called the silver millennium crystal," said Mark, "it's said to have an enormous amount of power, it will help you in you darkest of times, but don't use it too often, otherwise, it will have a negative effect on you."
"Nikki is one of the protectors, and her power is over water," said Lewis. Then the screen turned on and on it Kayla saw that there was a map of their area,
"Besides that, there is a weird power near the park, we need you and Nikki to go there and check it out," said Mark.
"But what am I supposed to tell Nikki?" asked Kayla.
"Just tell her that you have to show her something really important, and you can explain it to her on the way," Lewis told her, "tell her that she needs to trust you, and if she doesn't I guess you'll have to prove it to her by transforming."
"Then," said Mark, "when she does believe you, give her this." he held out another broach that was just like Kayla's, but this one showed an ocean on it, and right above it, facing down was a crescent moon. "Now hurry," remarked Lewis, "You have to defeat the Demon Workers." Kayla ran outside and took Nikki,
"Where are you taking me?" Nikki yelled.
"We have to go, it a matter of utmost importance, I'll explain on the way!" Kayla said back. After a while when they were alone, Kayla stopped. "Look," she panted, "I know this will sound very strange, it did to me to at first, but I got kind of used to it."
"What are you talking about, Kayla, what is going on?" asked Nikki.
"Ok, I'll tell you, but you have to promise me that you won't freak out too much, and that you will trust me," said Kayla.
"Kay, I promise," she told her, Kayla took in a deep breath and started to talk really fast,
"Remember the earthquake that happened two days ago, there was a huge ray that zapped you and you got a weird dream?" she asked, "Well, you already had special DNA inside of your body but that ray helped activate it and now us two and three other people have to protect the Earth from these evil people who call themselves the Crusaders and they send monsters to kill the humans so that they can take over the Earth, so we have to destroy them by transforming, I'm Protector Earth, and I guess if Mark and Lewis are right then you would be Protector Aqua, so that's all I have to say I'm not joking, why would I kid about that sort of thing, and if you don't believe me I can prove it, and don't forget that you promised not to freak out too much, please believe me, please!" Kayla was out of breath, and she waited to hear Nikki's answer, if she was still here. "Oh my gosh," Nikki exlcaimed, "I remember that dream, but I thought that it was irrelevant, so I didn't pay attention to it."
"So you do believe me right?" Kayla asked.
"Well, not completely, I really wanted to see that proof you have," said Nikki
"No problem, but you might want to step back," Nikki did what Kayla said, then Kayla pulled out her broach and called out,
"PROTECTOR EARTH, TRANSFORM!" she turned back into Protector Earth. Once again, Nikki was completely stunned, "You have a broach too," Kayla told her, she pulled it out and gave it to Nikki,
"Ok, now, even though it's a little weird, and by that I mean completely ridiculous if I didn't have proof, I completely trust you. so, umm...exactly, what did we come here for, and why couldn't we do this at the cafe?" she asked.
"OH NO, I CAN'T BELIEVE I ALMOST FORGOT, I AM SO STUPID! Come on, we have to get to the park," then they heard a loud grunt, and a whole lot of screaming, "and by the sound of it, we need to really hurry!" Then they ran off...
