The Date


"A movie?"
"Yeah, it'll come out this Saturday, and I have an extra ticket, so I was wondering if you wanted to go with me."
"Sure, of course I want to come."
"Great, then I'll meet you at the train station at 10:00."
"Cool, see ya."
Kayla just stood there to recall everything that had just happened, wondering if it was real, while asking herself,
"OMG!! Did the most popular guy in school just ask me out?" It took her awhile to realize that it actually happened, then all of a sudden she cried out, "YEA, ALRIGHT!" At that moment her two best friends Meg and Sarah jumped out all so exited and her praising her for her great success. Then... "BRINGGGGGGGGGGGGG!" Kayla's great dream was shattered, and she woke up annoyed while punching the alarm clock as if it was for blame that it was only a dream. After recollecting herself, Kayla glanced at her clock and winced while thinking,
"Oh no, I've got to get ready, but what for? I can't remember, I still blame you, you stupid alarm clock," She jumped out of her bed, and only to fall, "ow, my knee!! *sigh* I guess this wasn't the alarm clock's fault..." Then, remembering where she was actually going, she started to grin,
"I'm TRULY sorry alarm clock! you destroyed my dream and made it so it could come true!! hah!" She got ready as quickly as she could with her bruised knee and ran downstairs.
"Bye, I'm going out," Kayla called to her parents.
"Be back by 5," called her mom, while she ran outside with a very happy feeling. Hi, my name is Kayla Carr. I am 13 years old and am in the seventh grade. I have 1 sibling, my big sister, Kylie, but she got married so she lives with her husband, Matt, so for right now it's just my mom, dad, and me. My school is called Wakefield Junior High. Right now I am about to go out on a date with and my very own BOYFRIEND!!! Well...not YET...but I do hope he will!!...
"Elliot!" Kayla said to herself, "...Hold on, hair check, zit check, breath check, clothes check... great, everything seems to be fine. Ok, now I'm ready."
"Ready for what?" asked a voice behind her. She turned,
"AHH, Elliot, I didn't see you," she said back, while starting to blush, "I'm sorry I made you wait, I'm not late, am I?"
"No", he answered, "I just arrived myself, but the train should be coming any minute now."
Kayla couldn't help but admire him, because she probably had made him wait a long time already.
There was a "SCREEEEEEEECH" when the train stopped, and then someone blew a whistle.
"Well, our train's here, come on let's go," said Elliot. Once inside the train Elliot went over the plan for today, " first we'll go to an amusement park, then the train to go to the theater will come at 1:30, and the move starts at 2 and ends at 4, so then we'll get something to eat, then we'll get you home by 5, does that sound ok?" he asked.
"that sounds like a good plan, and if everything goes right, we'll be able to do everything," she answered.
After the train ride Kayla and Elliot went to the amusement park and went on all of the rides, bought some cotton candy, and went inside the haunted house. After that they tried to watch the movie, but for some technical difficulty it was closed, so they got something to eat at a fast food restaurant then they went to the park.
"Are you thirsty?" asked Elliot, "wait here, I'll go get us some drinks.
"Kay, thanks," she said.
All of a sudden there was a huge earthquake, Kayla felt like she was going to die, then she was zapped by a ray, and everything to her seemed so blurry, then... she fainted.
Kayla awoke to find 2 mysterious men standing near her, they introduced themselves as brothers, Mark and Lewis Thomas, and they also said that they had to tell her something important, they said to her,
"You have a special DNA in you that gives you special powers, and that ray that you have just been zapped with has helped activate these powers. To help control your powers you will use this," they handed her a broach, and on it there was a circle and inside it was a star with dots in between the spaces, and outside the circle there are rays all around it,
"When you use it you will feel words inside of you, say them and you will be transformed into ProtectorWe need your help to save the Earth from an Evil called The Crusaders, don't worry, you won't have to do it all by yourself, you will also have to find the four other Protectors, your companions all of the Protector have different powers, power over water, nature, fire, and love, but you are the leader, you have other powers, special ones, but you'll learn them later. Also there is one more thing that we have to give you," they pulled out a pink fuzzy ball with little white strands coming out of her head,
"This is Minna, she will warn you when evil is near, your brooch is also a locket, you can put Minna in there, and she will pop out when there is danger, but only when you are alone, or speak to you telepathically when there is someone else with you. Remember, you can't tell anybody. You will never be normal unless you defeat the aliens with the other four Protector, we need you Kayla, help us...” things went blurry again, then she heard Elliot's voice,
"Kayla, are you ok?" he asked. Kayla quickly got up trying to remember eactly what happened,
"I think so," she answered. Kayla couldn't help but wonder, "was that a dream, or did it really happen? Who were those people?" She kept asking herself these questions, then she felt something in her hand, she looked, it was the broach, then, reluctantly she opened it and looked inside, and sure enough, there was Minna.
